FilCom Dubai-NE alongwith other business entities have partnered with the Philippine Business Council (PBC), the lead organization, in holding a “Walk-For-A-Cause” on Friday, 6^th January 2012 at Safa Park , Dubai .

The event is expected to draw a huge number of participants (Filipinos and non-Filipinos). Government officials are likewise expected to join. Participants (including organizers) are kindly requested to donate a minimum of AED 50.00 each upon registration. Red Crescent representatives shall receive the total amount raised and eventually handover to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). Proceeds are intended for typhoon Sendong victims.

MESSAGE

With a grateful and prayerful heart, I sincerely greet my fellow co-workers in the Department a merry Christmas and a prosperous and peaceful New Year! May our celebration of the Christmas season be truly meaningful and true to the spirit of giving, unity, and hope.

We, at the DOLE, as one big family, end the year 2011 with utmost confidence that we were able to fulfill our mandate of providing genuine service to the Filipino people. We performed much and big in 2011 because we rowed the DOLE ship in a vigorous manner towards a steering direction pointed us by the reforms we have pledged to pursue and which we believe will help us contribute to President Benigno S. Aquino III’s aim to attain inclusive growth and reduce poverty in our land.

For the New Year now upon us, let us exude the same self-assurance about the righteousness and justness of our aim. Let us demonstrate once again the same level of confidence and passion in our capacity to perform our work, and to perform it well with honesty and dignity. Only by doing so could we fulfill our noble duty of serving our true “boss”—the Filipino people—to whom we owe our official status as servants of the people.

As I have often said, true and genuine public service is a reward in itself. I, therefore, encourage each one of us to renew our pledge, as public officials and employees of the DOLE, to serve beyond the call of duty and to perform our tasks and obligations without a moment of hesitation or reserve.

As you very well knew, we faced a host of challenges in the past year, but we overcame because we were united as a team in our purpose. I am sure we will again face a challenging 2012, but just like in 2011, we can emerge victorious if we can sustain our resiliency, our unity, and our creativity.

The entire Christmas season allowed us to pause from our relentless pursuit of our mandate. It afforded us a work-free opportunity to be with our family and to be re-united with friends in a moment of celebration and introspection. In observance of tradition, let us focus ourselves during the season to the enduring spirit of giving by also thinking of our fellow countrymen who, at this time of the year, are in less fortunate circumstances and are, therefore, in no position to celebrate Christmas. Let us intensely pray for their deliverance from dire straits.

Once more, I wish you all a happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 2012.

Successful PSSP Nebosh IGC Delegates last 24.10.2011 Examination

Dear Nebosh Delegates,

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! !

Please be informed that the October batch of PSSpians who booked the Nebosh IGC Distance learning class and took the examination last 24 October 2011, pass and hurdle the examinations with flying colors!!! It was 100 percent passing in Paper 3, while it is 74% passing in Paper 1 and 63% passing in Paper 2. There are two (2) delegates who got a DISTINCTION mark while there are six (6) WITH CREDIT and the rest received PASS mark. The certificate will be released ten weeks after the date of results.

Kudos to the training committee and special mention to then Vice-President and now President who is nagkakanda kuba na sa pag turo at pag guide sa mga delegates.

Once again, congratulations and keep up the good work. The PSSP members are proud of your achievements. A victory party of handing over all the certificates for NEBOSH and IOSH Managing Safely passers is in the planning stage.

PSSP Outreach Program for Tropical Storm’Sendong’

More than a thousand lives were lost when Sendong (international name Washi) caused flashfloods that wiped away entire villages near rivers in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Cities in Mindanao.

With the above, here find below the call for ALL Psspians….

Mga ka-Sapiti,

Magandang araw po ng kaligtasan sa inyong lahat! Nais po namin kumatok sa inyong mga puso sa lahat ng mga miyembro at naging bahagi ng PSSP-UAE. Pagpalain nawa kayo ng ating Panginoong Ama sa langit. Kung inyong nalaman na nitong nkaraan disyembre 16&17, 2011 may kalamidad na pinagdaan ang ating Inang bayang Pilipinas. Kung saan daan-daan ang nasawi at libong-libong pamilya ang nawalan ng tahanan. Nais po namin kayong anyayahan na makilahok sa pagbibigay nang abot sa inyong maibabahagi sa ating mga kababayan na nasalanta ng bagyong Sendong.
