HSE Coordinator –

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: operate radio-telephone equipment and communicates respond to and perform skilled tasks at the scenes of emergency calls and non-emergency calls;
• Responds to alarms and assists in the suppression of structural, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle fires; perform fire control activities and utilize strategies in the areas of victim rescue, entry, exposure tactics, ventilation, fire containment and extinguishment, and salvage work; lay and connect hose, hold nozzles and direct water streams; rise and climb ladders; ventilate burning structures; make forcible entries and evacuate occupancies.
• Conducts fire prevention inspections to ensure compliance with codes and regulations pertaining to fire safety. comply with codes, inspect and test fire protection systems; examine the storage, handling, and use of flammable and combustible liquids and other hazardous materials; make recommendations regarding correction of hazards.
• Conducts daily inspections of condition and readiness of equipment; clean, wash, and service equipment, inspect, test, and maintain equipment and pump motors including nozzles, appliances, fittings, Fire extinguishers..
• Responds to miscellaneous emergencies; including rescues, hazardous materials, flooding, and natural disasters, respond to non-emergency situations including false fire alarms. other non-emergency situations.
• Drives and operate vehicles, apparatus, and equipment under limited conditions.
• Participates in periodic testing of pumps, ladders, and other apparatus and equipment.
• Participates in fire training activities; attend continuing and advanced training sessions, which include fire fighting techniques, emergency medical care, and the proper use of all equipment and related tools.
• Assists in the investigation of fires; collect and preserve evidence; secure fire scene.
• Responds to the orders and directives of incident commanders/superiors and carries out assignments per applicable practices, protocols, and guidelines.
• Performs a variety of administrative duties including maintaining property records and documentation on all job related activities, functions, apparatus, and equipment; prepare reports, forms, recommendations, and other required administrative procedures.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Knowledge of:

• Laws, ordinances and codes affecting the work of Firefighter emergency rescue procedures and practices involving fire, chemical, or other threats; firefighting principles, techniques, and principles of hydraulics applied to fire suppression; modern fire prevention and suppression methods, fire behavior, and basic chemistry; basic English grammar, spelling, punctuation and composition; appropriate safety precautions and procedures.

 Ability to:

• React quickly and calmly to fight fires and perform emergency techniques and procedures; respond quickly to changing situations under emergency pressures; perform rescues; operate, maintain, inspect and repair, apparatus, equipment, communication systems, and fire hydrants; conduct fire inspections write comprehensive reports and maintain accurate records; establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
• Learn local conditions, locations and regulations; operate computers; understand and follow oral and written directions promptly and accurately.

At the onset, let me introduce our company.  The Al Rostamani Pegel L.L.C. was founded in 1998, a civil engineering and construction company.  It is a partnership between Al Rostamani Group, based in Dubai , and the German construction company Gustav Pegel & Sohn, based in Berlin .  We are into large scale housing, industrial and infrastructure projects.  We also have expertise for executing works requiring outstanding technical quality, like bridges, tunnels and skyscrapers.As discussed earlier, we are currently looking for Safety Officers / Engineers, specifications as follows (job description below):

• 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in safety, preferably in a construction industry
• Relevant degree
• Relevant training in safety (Nebosh, OHS, etc)

We currently have more than 20 running projects, mostly high rise buildings.  Should you know anybody who might be interested, please request them to send their CV to us.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ø       Awareness and understanding of all Safety rules and regulations in the Company

Ø       Implement, read and understand the site specific Safety Manual and requirements

Ø       Ensure that Subcontractors operate in a safe manner and comply with the project safety policy

Ø       Carry out regular and random inspection on the site and record results

Ø       Compile and record safety statistics

Ø       Maintain the necessary Safety related records

Ø       Develop and implement safe systems of work for the project in conjunction with the Project Manager

Ø       Ensure risk assessments have been carried out for work activities

Ø       Ensure the use and wearing of protective clothing and safety equipment provided

Ø       Ensure the use of the correct tools and equipment for the job

Ø       Report to Project Manager and Project Engineer any unsafe conditions or defects in plant or equipment

Ø       Report any injuries resulting from work activities

Ø       Investigation into Site accidents and analysis of the causes and associated preventative actions

Ø       Ensure the maintenance of a high standard of housekeeping at all times

Ø       Make program for toolbox talks for sites
